TSS is the world largest provider of tape systems and services to the marine seismic industry.
Since its start in 1997 has TSS specialised itself to meet the challenges of seismic data deliverables, developing tailored product solutions and services for seismic acquisition and offering global support and services operations.
The legendary IBM Magstar 3590 tape drive has been the seismic data recording “workhorse” for over a decade and are still the most commonly used recording machine. It's successor, IBM 3592, also called the “Jaguar”, offered a giant leap in capacity and performance. A new recording format was required to take advantage of the new technology. The introduction of SEG-D, Ver 2,1 offers a significant reduction of media handling and cost.
To be able to adopt latest technology in tape drive systems provides an improvement in efficiency, quality, reliability and long-term storage roadmap. TSS has delivered hundreds of both Magstar and Jaguar tape systems, and advance exchange support contracts for both models. TSS support engineers have offshore safety certifications and are able to perform maintenance and consultancy work onboard vessels worldwide.
